Ankle Angle

Last night I ran rapidly to my car, and just before turning toward the door twisted my left ankle at a remarkable angle. I reacted in pain and limped to the driver's seat where I doubled over and whimpered to myself for a while before driving home. Fancy that, spraining my ankle on a flat surface while running just for the fun of it. I definitely gave shifting gears some extra thought last night.

This morning the pain was more remarkable yet, but seems somewhat deadened after a day wandering around the VanBeek Dairy. There is still swelling in my lateral tarsal joint capsule, or whatever the structure is.
It would seem the sprain is a first or possibly second degree (significant swelling and painful to walk, but bearable). The swelling seems to be associated with the anterior talofibular ligament. Perhaps I will be good and ice it tonight. More probably I will not.
